First update on life in Cebu
It’s been a while, I know. Been busy and not so busy with adapting to the lifestyle here in Cebu, finding our way in and out, some small jobs, etc. Things are working out great so far, we get along very well with our housemates and neighbourhood, you’re never alone here unless you choose for it.
Shayne is busy with finding a job (and she will find one), I’m finally getting some new freelance projects, so all going well in that department too.
We didn’t do much trips yet, because of what I wrote above. Though I did a freediving (going deep down without air) tryout with my housemate Christoph and his buddy Herbert. We also went for an islandhopping trip to the nearby islands of Mactan, Cebu.
We visited the guitarcenter in Lapu-Lapu, where I bought myself a nice fully handcrafted guitar. Though not the high end range (which goes up to 1400 euro), but a cheapy one which is more then good enough for what I play. Can’t buy those guitars in Belgium for 150 euro…
And I had my first instruction to Arnis (or Eskrima), the filipino national martial art, originated in Cebu. I still didn’t go for my full lessons, but will do soon. It’s the most powerful martial art in the world and is very effective in real day fights. You can google for it if you’re interested to learn more about it. Who knows I ever might need it…(knock knock on the table)
Furthermore we get to know more and more locals and they’re one by one pleasant people to hang out with. Yep, life is pretty nice here.
Below some pictures.
