Climbing Mount Salakot, June 11-12, 2011 An initiative of Conde Outdoors. Mount Salakot is one of the peaks overlooking the massive southern jungles and Puerto Princesa bay. 23 people joined, all locals except for me and Ehren, an australian. Pretty easy climb, but very wet...It rained almost continuously. On top there was an old military base. We slept in what's left of it. Great experience and will definitely join more climbs. 15 photos |

Introduction flight, March 4, 2011 It didn't give me the thrill I expected, but glad I've done it though. Adding everything together I came to the conclusion this is a rich man's hobby. A course is one thing, renting a plane, leave out buying one, is another. To fly international you would need the Private Pilot License. A stuntman working on his plane gave me some tips and his strongest one was: don't do a course here, but get one in a proper flightschool in your own country... I put the idea on the shelve. 13 photos |

Tour de Sabah 150cc class - February 14 - 28, 2011 Two solo adventure travelers who met & became friends in Philippines decided to do a 1300km tour around Sabah, with off-road bikes. They don't always obey the rules and often go against advise...let's say for the better experience :) Highlight was definitely Maliau Basin, primary untouched jungle & the roads along the Kalimantan border towards Kota Kinabalu. Let the pictures talk to you. 146 photos |

Airshow Clark DMIA airport Besides fetching a flight & sightseeing pensionated sexmongers, there's one other good reason to visit the old miltary camp of the US & it's nearest city Angeles; the annual flightshow, which happened to be one day before my flight to Borneo. It was cool, but hot... 19 photos |

Tour de Palawan 125cc class A sketchy summary: Toured Palawan solo by motorbike. Total km's: 1550km. Time: 2 weeks. In short: an amazing experience. Had all kinds of weather, had all kinds of roads, as far as you still could call it roads. Met lovely friendly people. Slept with locals in the western south. In the South I haven't seen any foreigner for 6 days. No webconnection either, hardly mobile connection or electricity. No concrete roads. Now that's what I call remote. For how long? Probably till they start the concrete roads. Plannings are already been made as I've heard. Do it before it's too late. The southern westcoast was the highlight, since it's still so unexplored. In total I drove roughly 300km dirtroads/rivercrossing there flanked by virgin forest from Napsan to Rizal. The forests and mountains in the south still have native inhabitants, fairly untouched by our civilisation. They choose for it. Animists. In my eyes the best "religion" their ever is/was. Unfortunately there are Christian missionaries trying to convert them. Once again...missionaries, the pioniers of destroying culture. I wanted to visit the Taut Batu tribes, but the extreme rainfall, the internal conflicts between them because of the conversions etc stopped me. Still there are tribes untouched, living in the highest caves in the middle of South Palawan. It would take 4 to 5 days jungletrekking to get there....and going back. By the coastline you have friendly natives, farmers and fishermen, still as if time stould still there. I was like driving through a timemachine when crossing the forests. The north had more spectacular sightings, but is a bit more developed. Still nothing compared to Cebu for instance & has yet much to explore. The least interesting part I found to be The southern eastcoast. Mainly ricefarming and the landscape tends to become a bit boring. Also the concrete road removes the charm. So I went a little bit more inland around Brooke's point and found a nice place to end the adventure. And so much more...but this gives a rough idea. 120 photos |

Java - Malang, Bromo Another trip to Java. This time more east. Countless horror hours on the rails (we opted for low class), but worth it! Malang was awesome, and for a big part because of the wonderful hospitality we experienced from our friends in Malang. Big up to all of you and a special reward to ibu, who took extra care of me while suffering from a badass foodpoisoning! 47 photos |

Cambodia Extremely rich Khmer culture, difficult bloodred history, intriguing people, awesome food,...But I guess not for the average Joe going on a "holiday"...there's a rough edge to it...lots of dope, extreme poverty, child labor, abuse, warvictims,...It's not a happy eye-opener, but once in touch with the locals a warm & beautiful Cambodia opens up. 115 photos |

Khmer Rouge genocide What's to describe? What I feel walking through these remains of a living hell, is yet a microscopic fragment of what Cambodians have gone through...1/4th of a population is gone, old culture and traditions left ruined. I can only travel humble here. 20 photos |

Diving in Sogod Bay 9 days underwater to get more familiar with my underwatercam stuff. Great diving in Sogod Bay. Whalesharks are the biggest fish...some whitetip shark, big sweetlips and brass...Protected area, and it's been done well. Underwater it's simply paradise, especially for macrostuff and weirdness. Untouched corals like I haven't seen before in Philippines. 128 photos |

New UW-setup test G10 with Patima housing & Inon z240 Strobe. First Scuba dive. Freediving pics are/will be without the strobe. It's all together about 3 kilo... First testresults...A bit too much to handle. It was been 3 months since I did a scuba dive, so this together with 3 kilo new equipment made me a bit struggling in the first 30 mins (even more when I noticed I forgot to open my oxygen decently...at 20m breathing was very hard...safety first ahum). Anyway... I had more dark, blurry or overlighted pics, but after about 30 mins the first proper results started to come in. The aim of your strobe, the diffuser yes or no, and the powersteps of the flash is incredibly crucial for your pic. I'm not talking about framing and focusing yet....wow...whole new world with a strobe. High shutter possible finally...great for those macro's and sharp results. Looks promising for the next dives, once I master the equipment better. 12 photos |

The beauty of Negros Some landscape & macro's of Negros. I skipped taking pics of Masskarafestival, for the sake of being free without a cam. I actually took not enough at all...Definitely an island worth more exploring! A bit bigger then Belgium...We went almost all around, cut of the north and crossed the mountains to have an idea of the interior landscape. 18 photos |

Turtleshots growing collection of turtle encounters. So far only pictures of freediving and probably it will stay like that. I can get at armlength distance, almost kiss them, bubbles would only scare them away. The feeling I experience while diving with these gracious ancient creatures is undescribable...I can spend hours with them, totally away from upper world. Enjoy! 8 photos |

How to enjoy a Visa extension Instead of getting headache while driving a killerbus to smelly Cebu City, we grab the motorbike and did even a small detour to Dumaguete. Twin lakes. You wouldn't care less if it rains. You would almost want to extend your visa every two weeks. 10 photos |

Talikud island -> Babusanta Last dive around Talikud island, before flying back to Cebu. We dove in a sandy area, Babusanta. At first you would think..beh, gimme corals...But it seemed very rewarding. We were lucky to see very unique macrolife & a few fishes (if we still can speak of fish...) I never saw before. 16 photos |
